Position Details
- Position Type: Full or Part-Time Employed W-2 or 1099 optional.
- Shift: Monday – Friday, days only, 8-hour shifts.
- Weekends: Occasional available weekend coverage opportunities for additional earnings.
Position Summary
The FNP or PA-C will provide medical evaluations and History & Physical (H&P) assessments for psychiatric patients in collaboration with supervising physicians. This role includes conducting examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and providing ongoing medical support for behavioral health patients. You'll work closely with interdisciplinary treatment teams to ensure quality patient care and continuity of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform History & Physical (H&P) assessments within 24 hours of admission.
- Conduct physical examinations and evaluate overall patient health status.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate treatment interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and provide continuity of care.
- Occasional wound care, injections, and minor sutures.
- Respond to patient medical concerns and emergencies, including CPR when necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff regarding patient treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families on preventive healthcare and wellness.
- Complete accurate patient documentation and notes.
Education, Certification, Licensure, & Experience
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Physician Assistant (PA) program.
- Licensure: Current Wyoming licensure or ability to obtain licensure
- Prescriptive authority in the State of Wyoming
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in acute care, psychiatric care, or other behavioral health setting (preferred).
- Experience treating diverse age populations including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
